Red Leaves Of Winter

Down here on the coast, our seasons get a little confusing. A lot of the trees stay green all year long while others just turn brown and die...seemingly overnight. Some of the trees DO show some beautiful color change but don't really do it till the middle of winter. I'm not sure what kind of tree hosts these leaves but they are pretty common here. I cut this little sprig from one of the trees along my driveway, thinking it would be a good specimen to play with in my high tech, high dollar light box...I love to play in the box!
