Evening Rose

It was another busy day today and I didn't get a chance to go out looking for photos so, right before the sun went down, I stepped out the door and shot this rose. My day isn't complete unless I hear a shutter snap!

From Saturday's road trip...if you're from Texas, you should feel duty bound to visit a few places; The Alamo, the San Jacinto Battlefield, the capitol in Austin and certainly this place, the mass grave of Fannin and his troops, just outside Goliad.

Detail of the top of the monument

You always hear about six flags over Texas...actually there have been nine.

Along a Texas highway, just out of Yoakum.

When you're out roaming the roads in South Texas, it's always a good idea to meet the local inhabitants...especially the young purty ones!!

That rose is so pretty it looks artificial. We should make a little trip to Goliad one day. I haven't been there in years.

Nice pictures, John. You must not be getting all the wind we're getting, otherwise your flowers would probably be a bit blury!
